How to Use Bold Letters on an Android Phone
Due to versatility of Android phones, they can be a huge asset in a business environment. These phones have the ability to open and edit documents, allowing you to review and make changes without having to be behind your desk. If you want to make changes to the formatting of a text document like bolding certain letters, the free Google Drive application for Android is required. This app also has the added benefit of ensuring you can easily share documents between your android and PC or laptop. Sending a document with the right formatting created in Google Drive as an attachment is an easy method to bypass the inability to create bold letters in an SMS or email send from an Android phone.
Navigate to the Google mobile website on your phone's browser and click the "Download from Google Play" link. Click the "Install" link and select your Android phone from the list of devices on the "Send To" drop-down menu.
Click the green "Install" button to download the app directly to your Android phone. Wait until you receive a notification on your phone that Google Drive has been successfully installed.
Navigate to the apps installed on your phone and tap "Drive" to launch the application.
Tap "Accept" to agree to the terms and conditions, then tap "Documents."
Tap the "Create new" button at the top of the phone screen and then tap "Document."
Enter a name for the document using the on-screen keyboard and then tap the "OK" button.
Tap the blank screen to bring up the on-screen keyboard as well as the text options. Use the keyboard to enter the text you want to write.
Tap and hold your finger down on a word until it is highlighted. Tap and drag the handles on either side of the highlighted word to highlight more letters or to remove some of the highlighted ones.
Tap the "B" icon at the top of the screen to change the formatting of the highlighted letters to bold.
Tap the "Done" button on the top left of the screen to save the changes. The document can then be shared or sent via Bluetooth or email. Sharing a document gives another user the permission to access and edit it directly, while sending it means only you have access to the original.
